The Adirondack Impact

The Adirondack Meteor Impact, centered in the Adirondack Mountains in upper New York State, U.S.A.

These mountains were formed by a massive impact that transformed a large part of North America.

At 50 mile radius, this circle shows the primary impact area. The higher peaks are to the Northeast of the center of impact, indicating that the comet came in from the Southwest.   A short video of this seismic circle is HERE. This will show the major points that define the circle, and give a preview of what you can see by downloading the kmz file. The kmz file for this circle is HERE. This will open in Google Earth and allows a closer examination of this circle.
When viewing the .kmz file in Google Earth, it is recommended that you open the placemarks in the left hand column, and click on the placemarks top to bottom. This will give you a tour of each of the circles, and you will be able to stop to examine other features along the way, if you wish

The seismic circle at 84 miles radius. The kmz file for this seismic circle is HERE!      Depending on your browser, the .kmz file will either save to disk where you can click on it, and it will open in Google Earth, or it will open in Google Earth directly.
If you do not have Google Earth, you can get it here.
By opening the .kmz file, you can examine this circle in detail. The file will open in the left hand column under Places, Temporary Places. Click the arrow to the left of the kmz file to expand the placemarks. Clicking on the placemarks top to bottom will take you on a tour of the major features which mark this circle. If you wish, you can explore these features in detail, and others you may see along the way.
